The Sketchbook Project

This is a gorgeous idea. Set up in the US, it’s a really novel concept. What happens is you sign up with The Sketchbook Project then pay a fee and they send you the same Moleskine sketchbook they send everyone else. You choose a theme, fill the sketchbook, send it back and it goes on tour around the country. You also get to keep tabs on your sketch, where it is, how many times viewed etc, using a barcode system. Simple! Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country. After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.
